The season is winding down and we finally had our first real shakeup in the rankings. The top 5 teams all won with #1 Booker T. Washington pounding Bolles to win another Florida 4A title. Seven ranked teams lost this week with the most surprising being in Washington where Eastside Catholic ended Bellevue’s 67 game winning streak to take home the Washington Class 3A title. With the win the Crusaders come int he rankings at #21. Centennial (CA) made us look good for ranking them last week by knocking off previous #9 St. John Bosco (CA). That win moves the Huskies up to #13 and sets up a showdown with #2 De La Salle this week. There were two minor upsets in Texas where Cedar Hill and Katy knocked off Carroll and Manvel respectively. The win moves Cedar Hill back into the rankings this week and Katy just missed the cut. The two should face off in the Texas 6A D2 title game in a few weeks. St. Peter’s Prep comes in the rankings at #15 after beating previous #18 Paramus Catholic to bring home the very tough New Jersey Non-Public Group 4 title. The final newly ranked team this week is Ocean Lakes (VA) who come in at #20. One of the best games of the year will be played this week when #4 Allen and #6 Skyline square off in the Texas 6A D1 semifinals in Dallas. This game will determine who wins the title of the best team in Texas this year. Check back next week to see if we have any upsets that shake up the rankings.
