We have finally got to the part of the season where rematches start happening and ranked teams start falling by the handful. This week it struck the bottom of the rankings with the #19, #20, #22, #23 teams losing. Archbishop Rummel (LA) and Carmel (IN) lost to teams they had beat during the regular season. Hudson (OH) lost to previously highly ranked St. Edward (OH). #1 Booker T. Washington survived a scare vs a very good Cocoa (FL) team and advance to the Florida 4A state championship game. A win will not guarantee them the national championships as De la Salle (CA), Bishop Gorman (NV) and Allen (TX) are close on their heels. We have three games this week between ranked teams. In Texas #4 Allen takes on newly ranked #23 Trinity. In Florida #5 Miami Central faces off with #15 Mainland. In California #9 St. John Bosco matches up with #22 Centennial. South Panola (MS) makes the highest debut in the rankings this week at #20 after taking down previous #20 Starkville (MS). Chandler (AZ) comes in at #21 after winning the Arizona Division I crown. The Wolves will technically finish the season undefeated after their previous loss to Mountain Pointe has now been declared a forfeit. Pine-Richland (PA) comes in at #25 this week as they continue their march to win the title of best team in Pennsylvania this year. Check back next week to see if we have any upsets that shake up the rankings.
