The Under Armor All star Football game was last night in Tampa. Team White (blur) beat Team Black (Highlight) 49-16. The first interesting thing about the game was that because of injuries to all 3 Team Black QB’s Tanner Mangum had to switch teams at halftime. It worked out well for him as he walked away with MVP for Team Black. Jameis Winston brought home the MVP for the winning team. There were 6 announcements made during the game. Most went down as 99% of college announcements go. The recruit announces his college choice, the family and friends put on apparel from the school the recruit chooses and everyone is happy. Sadly that only happened in 5 of the 6 announcements last night. Landon Collins, who is ranked 14th in the Prep Force rankings, was down to his final two choices Alabama and LSU. Collins is from Baton Rouge suburb Geismar, Louisiana so LSU seemed like the logical choice. Collins ended up choosing Alabama and thats when the fun starts. It seems Landon’s mom wanted her son to go to LSU. Most parents usually like when their kids stay close to home so thats not a surprise. Most don’t go on national TV and state that their son has made the wrong decision and then let out a cheer for the other school. Most are speculating that Collins chose Alabama since his girlfriend is going to Alabama as well. This makes me speculate that their may be some mother-girlfriend drama that we all don’t know about. Either way I feel it is the athletes decision to decide where they want to play football. If it ends up being the wrong choice then they will learn from their mistake. I wish the best to Landon Collins and hopes his mother realizes that what she did was wrong.
