Trenton Thompson is a big-time defensive lineman from Albany, Georgia. He is the consensus No.1 overall defensive tackle and regarded by some as the top overall player in the 2015 class. He holds offers from numerous schools including Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Ohio State, and Florida. It’s already known that he is a Georgia lean, but he is not committed anywhere right now. I caught up with the 2015 prospect recently to discuss his recruitment.

Q: What can you tell me about Georgia?
Trenton Thompson: “They were the first school to offer me, they showed me love my sophomore year”

Q: What other schools have you got a chance to visit?
Thompson: “Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida”

Q: What places do you want to visit that you haven’t got a chance to see yet?
Thompson: “Ohio State, Penn State, USC, and Miami”

Q: What are the biggest factors when you look at a potential school?
Thompson: “Getting my degree and finding a family”

Q: What about Florida State stands out to you?
Thompson: “Florida State is a great school and they are losing some defensive lineman.”

Q: What’s the strangest thing that has happened in the recruiting process so far?
Thompson: “I got 100 letters from Mississippi State in one day.”
