Desmond Fitzpatrick is a 2016 wide receiver from Farmington, Michigan. The talented prospect talks to us in this interview about making a decision and what he feels is important to him about a potential school.
Q: Which schools have been coming after you the hardest at this point?
A: “I would say that the 4 BCS schools that have offered me so far have showed the most interest. Wake Forest really showed me a lot of love on my visit. It’s hard to tell, since the coaches can’t call me yet.”
Q: What stands out to you about Michigan?
A: “Michigan’s academics stand out the most. I know that they are a highly ranked university in this country and that having a Michigan degree would be a good degree to have.”
Q: What schools have you had the chance to visit? And which ones have stood out the most?
A: “I’ve visited Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Toledo, Cincinnati, Purdue, and Kentucky. It’s hard to say if anyone stood out the most, but Wake Forest and Notre Dame seemed really nice, quiet and small. I liked different things about every school that I have visited so far.”
Q: At what point would you like to come to a final decision on a school?
A: “I want to make a decision next spring.”
Q: What factors will you consider the most when making a final decision on a school?
A: “Academics, coaching staff, and whether or not I feel as though they really, really want me as a part of their program. I feel as though I will be ready to play early and I would like an opportunity to compete for a starting spot as a freshman.”
