Week 5 is here and there is already one shock. That is that Mater Dei against St. John’s is not one of this weeks picks. It is quite amazing with the Cadets latest results that this game is considered a foregone conclusion. The 5Dimes line on this game has the Monarchs favored by 26.5 points. That is why it is not listed this week. There is another big national game on the slate. St. Frances Academy and St. Joseph Regional will square off on ESPNU Saturday. Most of the experts are siding with the Panthers in that one.

The rest of this week’s games are all in state battles with some old fashion rivalry games sprinkled in. Utah is a battle of the top two teams as Lone Peak travels to Corner Canyon. The Chargers have started showing up in some national polls and this will be a big game to make sure they stay there. In Georgia Grayson heads to Colquitt County. Grayson is riding high after their big win over Marietta while the Packers will be looking to get back on track after their loss to Valdosta a few weeks ago. A couple of rivals that aren’t off to the starts they were hoping for will square off in New Jersey when Bergen Catholic heads to Don Bosco. Rivals will also square off in Georgia when top ranked AAAAAA Valdosta meets top ranked AAAAAAA Lowndes. This game means something every year but this year there is definitely a little more on the line. In South Carolina the #2 and #3 ranked teams square off in a rivalry game when Byrnes heads to Gaffney. Ohio brings us a couple of games this week as well. A game that wasn’t even on our radar before last week until Groveport Madison took down Pickerington Central was their matchup this week with Olentagny Liberty. Also in Ohio St. Edward travels to try and stop Miyan Williams and Winton Woods. The legend of Williams will continue to grow if the Warriors pull this one out.
