Sam Bruce, one of the top wide receivers in the class of 2016, recently committed to play for the local Miami Hurricanes squad. Prep Force recently caught up with him to get some details on his recent commitment and what influenced the decision. Also, which visits does Bruce still want to take?
Q: How has the recruiting process been for you so far?
A: “It’s been great! I’m really comfortable with my decision and there’s no doubt in my mind we won’t win a national championship.”
Q: What makes that decision so comfortable? What stood out about Miami?
A: “I like it because it’s close to home, that way all of my family will be able to come see me play every home game. And the coaching staff is amazing with a family based team.”
Q: Where do you think Coach Golden has the program going in the near future?
A: “With the ’15 and ’16 class combined as one, it’s going to be a team to watch. How I see it, he’s definitely progressing. It may take time but it will soon come.”
Q: Do you still plan on taking more visits or are you 100% sure with Miami?
A: “I have to say I’m 95% sure. But no one knows what will happen in the future.”
Q: What visits would you like to still take?
A: “Ohio State and Oregon”
Q: How would you say Jordan (Scarlett)’s commitment to Miami affected your decision?
A: “That’s my best friend, we talked about it for about two weeks and we both came to an agreement that we were gonna stay home and play for our city. So he played a great role in me going to UM (Miami).
