I have never been one that liked to do preseason rankings as all of us “experts” are just guessing until we see these teams actually play a game. I usually put out my first rankings after every team has had a chance to play a game. That being said I have been getting asked a lot through email and Twitter when would I be releasing my preseason rankings, so I will keep the fans happy.

The Prep Force preseason #1 team is St. Thomas Aquinas out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Raiders play the nation’s toughest schedule including what could be the national game of the year on August 29 when they face off against American Heritage and Torrance Gibson at Sun Life Stadium. The schedule could be the biggest difference maker at the end of the schedule when there are bound to be multiple undefeated teams. The roster is loaded on both sides of the ball with D1 talent and that was before they got two super star transfers, Jordan Scarlett and Sam Bruce, who are committed to the University of Miami. The one glaring question mark on the roster is at the QB position. Jake Rizzo got a little playing time last year and looked solid, but this will be a whole new ballgame now that he is the man. He will have 3 high major D1 wide receivers (Bruce, Devante Peete, Trevon Grimes) to throw to along with a great OL and a premiere backfield (Scarlett and Deltron Sands). The defensive side of the ball is just as good with super junior Nick Bosa leading the way on the D line and and two D1 corner backs (Damon Arnette and Rashard Causey). This team could end up wit over half of their starters playing in one of the Big 5 D1 conferences and that is why they start out at #1.

As expected the poll is dominated by teams from Florida (5), California (5) and Texas (4).
