There was not a lot of shakeup in the rankings this week with only 2 teams losing. St. John Bosco moves right back into the #2 spot after an impressive win over JSerra. If the Braves wouldn’t have responded with a big win we would’ve been worried. The two teams that lost this week were Gonzage who lost what was quite possibly the game of the year to Good Counsel in 5 overtimes. The game was tied 7-7 at the end of regulation but ended 42-35. The win moves the Falcons into the rankings this week. Their only loss of the season was a 31-8 road game at St. John Bosco. The Falcons defense has shown to be one of the best in the country. The loss drops the Eagles to #25 this week. Both teams have huge WCAC games this week. The Falcons take on #17 St. John’s this week while the Eagles face #11 Dematha.

In addition to the WCAC games we have one of the biggest games of the year this week when #4 IMG travels to take on #5 St. Frances Academy. This game will likely determine the best team on the east coast this year. The Ascenders still have their sites on the national title. An impressive win here would greatly help their cause. There is another game with national title implications down in Ft. Lauderdale where #8 St. Thomas Aquinas will host Deerfield Beach.
