For the first time all year there isn’t a marquee matchup of nationally ranked teams. There are a couple of really good out of state games. Those games include Rockledge (FL) heading to Ohio to take on St. Ignatius, Edgewater (FL) taking on Marietta, Trinity (KY) heading to Indiana to take on Cathedral and Winton Woods (OH) taking on Christian Brothers from Missouri. These are the type of games that show which states are better than others and have a big impact on the rankings even if the teams themselves aren’t ranked. There are a couple of big in state games in Florida with rivals American Heritage and Cardinal Gibbons squaring off and the two best teams in Miami battling for 305 bragging rights between Central and Northwestern. Surprisingly that game in Miami is the only one with a consensus pick this week. Texas, Louisiana and Ohio have what should be close in state matchups.
