The regular season is over in every state except Texas so that means we are in the playoffs. These games are always tough as teams play with more of a sense of urgency. While there aren’t as many big time matchups this early that doesn’t mean the games aren’t tough to pick. There are 3 games from California this week including the game of the week between JSerra and Oaks Christian. Both teams are either ranked or close to being ranked in all of the national polls. The Lions are at home and all of the experts picked them to win. If you follow the picks each week you know that is far from meaning they will win. Elsewhere Pittsburgh travels to De La Salle in what is sure to be a good NorCal matchup. These two met in the playoffs last year with the Spartans getting the 24-7 win and all the experts except Woody are expecting the same this year. IN Sherman oaks Los Alamitos is playing Notre Dame is a big CIS Division 2 matchup.

In the WCAC we have a rematch from a few weeks ago between Good Counsel and Dematha. The Stags won the first game 32-2 so the Falcons will be fired up looking for revenge. IN Ohio we have a couple of big Divison I regional semifinal games. Defending champ Pickerington Central will square off with Northmont in Springfield. We are a little shocked that all the experts picked the Tigers since the Thuderbolts are the higher seed. Euclid and St. Edward are meeting in Parma in another game where most of the experts chose the lower seed. Not sure if that means the OHSAA needs to change up their seeding or not until, but we will see how the games play out. Over in Michigan there is a good one between undefeated Chippewa Valley and Fordson who are coming off a big win over Cass Tech. Most polls had the Technicians as the #1 team in the state but the Tractors handled them easily 41-14. We will see if they suffer a let down this week against what some now consider the #1 team in the state. The experts are split down the middle on this one. Rounding out the week is a first round matchup in Georgia between Tift County and Roswell and a couple of Arizona 6A quarter finals. There are a few picks for each in both the Desert Vista versus Perry and Highland versus Liberty games.
