I expect a couple of small upsets in tonight’s semi-finals games from the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at the Madison Square Garden.
Mississippi State over Texas A & M – Mississippi State’s Arnett Moultrie has lived up to his preseason hype after transferring from UTEP. Renardo Sidney is scheduled to play after sitting out the last game against South Alabama with a groin injury. The two of them along with Rodney Hood will be too much for the front line of Texas A & M who’s missing their star Khris Middleton. The key as always for Mississippi State is Dee Bost. I expect him to have a good game and for Mississippi State to pull off a close low scoring game.
St Johns over Arizona – St Johns plays its first game of the year in MSG and I expect the place to be rocking. St. Johns has a young talented team that should enjoy playing on the big stage for the first time. Arizona has had early season problems hanging on to the ball avergaing 16 turnovers per game. St Johns on the other hand has been a pretty good job of not turning it over at just under 11 per game. In what should be a low scoring ga,mI think the turnovers will come back to haunt Arizona in their fist road game of the year. God’s Gift gives the home town fans a nice early season win!
